From home, a parking space or the road to a workshop
Tell us whether the vehicle starts, can be put in neutral, and whether its wheels and steering move. Mention underground parking, narrow entrances or limited manoeuvring space. Access is assessed in advance; a recovery truck cannot be assumed to enter every car park.
Agree the delivery with the receiving workshop
Provide its name, address, receiving hours and a contact if available. Check that it will accept the vehicle at the intended time. Transport does not automatically include diagnosis, repairs or storage; any additional service must be agreed with its provider.
Electric, hybrid or automatic vehicles
Identify the powertrain, transmission, warning messages and vehicle condition. Moving the car requires a method suitable for that model. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and pass on any information received from its assistance service.
For a journey between towns, see long-distance vehicle transport. If it is a rental car, ask the rental company which destination it authorises.
